It is a popular dish from the Maharashtra Region of India. It is served with Indian Flat Bread. There are different varieties of this Thecha. This recipe is one with peanuts.
Ingredients
Raw Groundnut (Peanut) – 1 cup
Green Chili – 10 (coarsely chopped)
Garlic Pods (chopped) – 1 ½ tbsp.
Oil – 2 tsp
Rock Salt to taste (optional)
Preparation:
Heat ½ tsp oil and add Green Chilli. Sauté for 2 to 3 minutes.
Add Garlic and Rock Salt and sauté for 2 to 3 minutes. Transfer to another vessel and allow it to cool.
Grind the Peanuts coarsely in a mixer-grinder.
Add the Green Chilli and garlic and crush once again.
Heat the remaining oil in the same pan and add the crushed Peanut mixture and stir cook for 3 to 5 minutes till the water content evaporates. Do not allow to become too dry.
Transfer to another vessel immediately or it could get dry. Allow to cool completely and store in an airtight container.
This delicious ground mixture can be eaten with any type of indian bread. Can be also added to dishes as a flavor enhancer.
