Dosa is a very popular South Indian dish which is served as a breakfast. It can also be served as evening tiffin. And people serve it as dinner also. And the varieties of Dosa preparations cannot be counted easily – innumerous. I have already posted around 11 such Dosa recipe so far. Generally Dosa preparation starts with soaking rice and Urad Dal for 8 to 12 hours. But, there are instant preparations also. We will see one such preparation for Dosa with Wheat Flour and Poha. It will definitely be a tasty Dosa. Try it.
Ingredients:
Whole Wheat Flour – 1 ½ cup
Poha – ¼ cup (soaked in water for 20 minutes)
Onion -1 (finely chopped)
Green Chilli – 2 (finely chopped)
Curry Leaves – from two or three twigs, finely chopped
Finely Chopped Cilantro – 2 tbsp
Grated Ginger – 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder – 1 pinch
Salt – to suit taste
Oil – to make the Dosa
Method:
Take the soaked Poha in a mixing bowl and crush with hand. Add all other ingredients except the Wheat Flour and crush all of them together with hand. Add the Wheat Flour. Mix well with required water to make a smooth batter.
Heat a Tawa. Spread some batter and make a Dosa. Drizzle Oil all around the sides of the Dosa. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes in low medium flame till the bottom of the Dosa becomes crisp. Flip the Dosa and cook the other side for 2 minutes.
Serve hot with Chutney and/or Sambar.
