Ingredients
Green plantain/raw banana: 2
Cumin seeds: ¾ tsp
Green chilies: 2-3
Coconut: 3 tbsp. grated
Turmeric pd/haldi: ¼ tsp
Onion: 2 finely chopped
Salt to taste
To temper:
Oil: 1 tbsp.
Mustard seeds: ½ tsp
Urad dal: ½ tsp
Curry leaves: 9-10
Cilantro for garnishing
Method
Peel off banana skin and cut into small cubes.
Boil water and add bananas with salt and turmeric powder.
Do not overcook. Usually cooking taking 4-5 mins. Drain water.
Grind cumin seeds and green chilies.
Add coconut and grind very coarsely with minimal water.
Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds. Once they splutter, add urad dal and stir till it turns slightly brown.
Add curry leaves and onions and sauté till onions turn translucent.
Add the ground coconut paste and cook till the raw smell goes away.
Add the cooked banana and stir gently.
Cook on low heat for 4-5 mins. Add cilantro to garnish.
Done!
