I have not made dishes using radish pods/mogri before. I tried it once
(Mogri and Aloo Ki Subzi) and it turned out to be really tasty. So tried my hands at making a dish with Radish pods in a typical south indian style. It was an instant hit with everyone at home!
Ingredients:
Radish Pods (Mogri Falli) – 250 Gms
Oil – 2 tbsp
Mustard Seeds – ½ tsp
Urad Dal – 1 tsp
Finely Chopped Onion – ½ cup
Curry Leaves – from 1 sprig
Turmeric Powder – 1/8 tsp
Salt- to suit one’s taste
To Grind:
Grated Coconut – ¼ cup
Green Chillies – 2
Method:
Trim both the ends of the Mogri Falli and discard. Chop the Falli finely and keep aside.
Grind grated Coconut and Green Chili coarsely and keep aside.
Heat the Oil in a pan. Add Mustard Seeds. And add the Urad Dal in a few seconds. When the Dal turns pink, add the chopped Onion and Curry Leaves. Stir cook till the Onion turns translucent.
Add the chopped Radish Pods. Stir cook for few minutes. Add Turmeric Powder and Salt. Mix well. Simmer for 5 to 6 minutes in low flame covered with a lid stirring in between till the vegetable is done.
Add the crushed Coconut and Green Chilli. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes. Transfer to a serving bowl. Serve with Roti, Chappati, Rice etc.
I have read your article carefully and I agree with you very much. This has provided a great help for my thesis writing, and I will seriously improve it. However, I don’t know much about a certain place. Can you help me?
