This Masala Pasta is an Indian style pasta preparation with regular indian spices. It is a tasty recipe for the tiffin box or after school snacks for the kids.
Ingredients
Pasta or Macaroni – 1 cup
Olive Oil – 2 tbsp
Onion – 1 (finely chopped)
Ginger Garlic Paste – ½ tsp
Tomato (Large) – 2 (crushed)
Red Chilli Powder – ½ tsp
Fresh Green Peas – ¼ cup
Chopped Capsicum – 2 cups
Pav Bhaji Masala Powder – ½ tsp
Coriander (Dhania) Seed Powder – ½ tsp
Turmeric Powder – 1 pinch
Salt to taste
Kasoori Methi (Dry Fenugreek Leaves0 – ½ tsp
Finely Chopped Cilantro (Coriander Leaves) – ½ tsp
Method
Heat 5 cups of water with little salt and a tsp of Oil. When it comes to a boil, add the Pasta or Macaroni and cook till it is al dente.
Drain the water and keep aside.
Heat the Oil in pan. Add the finely chopped Onion and sauté till it becomes translucent.
Add the Ginger Garlic Paste and sauté till the raw smell goes away.
Add the crushed Tomato, Coriander Seed Powder, Turmeric Powder, Salt, Chilli Powder and Pav Bhaji Masala Powder. Mix well and cook for 2 to 3 minutes.
Add the fresh Green Peas and the Capsicum.
Cool till the gravy becomes dry and the vegetables are cooked well. Add ¼ cup of water. Add Kasoori Methi. Mix well.
In a few seconds, add the boiled Pasta and Coriander Leaves. Toss well and cook for a couple of minutes in low flame.
The tasty Masala Pasta is ready.
Notes:
Use any vegetable Oil in place of Olive Oil if Olive Oil is not readily available.
You can add vegetables like Carrot, Beans, Broccoli etc to make it more nutritious and tasty.
