Sandwich falls in the category of one of the quick fix recipes which can be eaten for breakfast, lunch and evening snacks. It goes well with Tea, Coffee, Juice etc.
Ingredients
Boiled and Crumbled Potato – 1 cup
Boiled Green Peas – ½ cup (Fresh Peas or Frozen Peas)
Finely Chopped Onion – 1
Chilli Sauce – ½ tsp
Tomato Sauce – ¾ tsp
Dried Mixed Herbs – ¼ tsp
Grated Cheese – 2 tbsp
Butter – 1 tsp + 1 tbsp
Garlic Pod (crushed) – 4
Bread Slices – 6
Method
Heat 1 tsp Butter in a pan. Add Garlic to it and sauté for a minute in low flame.
Add Onion and stir fry till it becomes translucent.
Add Crumbled Potato and boiled Green Peas.
Mash them slightly.
Add Tomato sauce, Chili sauce, Oregano and Salt. Mix well. Cook them for a couple of minutes stirring in between.
Add the grated Cheese and mix gently.
Trim the edges of the Bread Slices. Roll it on all sides with a rolling pin. Apply Butter on each slice.
Place 1/6th of the Potato mixture on one side of the bread and fold into half.
Apply Butter on both sides of the folded Bread and toast it till it becomes crisp.
Serve hot with Tomato and Sauce or Green Chutney.
