Instant Wheat Flour Dosa is a healthy Dosa. Whole Wheat Flour is the main ingredient in making this dosa. It does not require grinding or fermenting. I have also added rice flour to make the dosa crispy.
Ingredients
Whole Wheat Flour – ½ cup
Rice Flour – ¼ cup
Oil – 1 tsp
Cumin Seed – ¼ tsp
Green Chilli – 2 (finely chopped)
Grated Ginger – ½ tsp
Curry Leaves – from 1 or 2 twigs
Onion – ½ (finely chopped)
Cilantro (Dhania Leaves) – 2 tbsp (finely chopped)
Yogurt (Curd) – 1 tbsp
Water – 1 ¼ cup (adjust as per requirement)
Salt to taste
Oil – for making the Dosa
Method
Take the Wheat flour and Rice Flour in a mixing bowl.
Heat 1 tsp of Oil. Add Jeera and allow it to crackle. Add Onion, Green Chilli and Ginger. Sauté them till the Onion becomes translucent.
Add this mix to the bowl containing the rice and wheat flour. Add chopped Dhania Leaves, Yogurt and Salt.
Use a whisk and mix them well adding water gradually. The batter should be watery, but not too thin. It should be thinner than the usual Dosa batter.
Heat a Dosa pan. Grease the pan with Oil. Pour a ladle of batter from the outer edge to form a ring and then move inward. Fill the gaps if any with the batter.
The Dosa must be thin. Drizzle some oil on top and sides.
Cook in medium flame till the bottom of the Dosa turns crisp.
Flip and cook till the other side becomes crispy.
Serve with Chutney, Sambar etc
Note:
If the batter becomes too thin, add Rice Flour to make it to the required consistency.
If you have left over Dosa Batter or Idli batter, you can use it instead of Rice Flour.
Cumin Seed, Onion, Green Chilli and Ginger can be added to the batter in raw form also without sautéing them. This will also taste good.
