Coconut Ladoo with Jaggery is also a traditional sweet dish – in every region in India. It is a soft and delicious sweet – prepared generally during festive occasions. This Ladoo is prepared with scrapped Coconut and Jaggery instead of Sugar as the main ingredient. It is a healthy dish also. There are other Ladoos also which we have already posted and there are more to come in eth coming days. This sweet dish is very easy to make with very few ingredients. Try it, you will love it.
Ingredients:
Freshly Fresh Coconut – 2 cups
Grated Jaggery – ¾ cup
Cardamom (Elaichi) Powder – ¼ tsp
Salt – a tiny pinch
Water – ¼ cup
Method:
Melt the Jaggery in a vessel with ¼ cup of water. Let is start boiling. Allow it to boil for 2 to 3 minutes. Strain the Jaggery to remove impurities from the melted Jaggery.
Roast the Coconut in another pan and roast it in low medium flame for 3 to 4 minutes stirring continuously. (The color of the Coconut should not change). Add the Jaggery syrup. Add cardamom Powder and pinch of Salt. Continue to cook for another 5 to 6 minutes till the mixture becomes thick.
Allow the mixture to cool. Apply some Ghee to the palms. Take a small portion of the mixture and make a ball. The size of the balls can be as per your preference. Make more such balls and keep in a plate. The tasty Jaggery Ladoo is ready.
