We will see how to make a very delicious Ladoo recipe with whole wheat flour (Atta) and Sugar. This is a specialty in the Maharashtra region and I learnt this from a Maharastrian friend. She makes this Ladoo during any festive occasion like Ganapati Pooja, Navratri etc. It is a very simple recipe – easy to make with very minimal ingredients. Everyone will like this Ladoo. Try it!
Ingredients:
Whole Wheat Flour – 1 cup
Powdered Sugar – ½ cup
Ghee – 1/3 cup
Cardamom (Elaichi) Powder – ¼ tsp
Broken Cashew Nuts – Almonds – Pistachio – 2 tbsp
Method:
Dry roast the whole Wheat Flour in a large pan till it changes its color lightly and the aroma starts releasing. Add Ghee little by little and mix well. (Keep aside 2 tsp of Ghee). Roast for another two minutes.
Add the powdered Sugar and combine well. Add the Cardamom powder and the broken (chopped) dry fruits. Roast in very low flame for 2 minutes. The pleasant aroma will start filling the kitchen. Transfer the mix to a bowl.
Mix this mixture by hand while it is still warm. Add the 2 tsp of Ghee which we have kept aside. The mixture should attain a stage when we will be able to make balls which would not crumble easily.
Take small portion of the mixture and start making the Ladoos. The size of Ladoos which you want to make is as per your preference. Apply enough pressure with the fingers and palms while making the Ladoo so that the Ladoo will not crumble.
If it still crumbles due to any chance, add more Ghee to the mixture and mix well once again.
The tasty Maharastrian Atta Ka Ladoo is ready.
You can store it in air tight containers when they cool to the room temperature. If stored refrigerated, they can be stored for 2 weeks at least.
