Radish contains many nutrients and it should be on top of our favorite vegetables. It is good for diabetics, regulates digestion, and prevents cold and cough. It also known to help in weight reduction. It can be eaten raw or as a salad and can be made into a very tasty dish.
Ingredients
White Radish ( Mooli) – 2
Chilli Powder – 1 ½ tsp
Coriander (Dhania) Powder – 1 tsp
Cumin Seed (Jeera) Powder – 1 tsp
Turmeric (Haldi) Powder – ¼ tsp
Sesame seeds (Til / Ellu) – ½ tsp
Oil – 2 tbsp
Curry Leaves – 1 strand
Lemon Juice – ¼ tsp
Salt to taste
Preparation:
Peel off the skin of the White Radish. Cut vertically into two pieces. Slice them into pieces. The pieces must not be too thick or too thin. Rinse the slices and drain the water completely.
Heat Oil in a pan. Add Curry leaves and Sesame seeds. When the Sesame seeds crackles, add Chilli Powder, Dhania Powder, Jeera Powder and stir well.
Add the Radish. Cook on low heat for 2 minutes (If the Radish is tender, water is not required. Otherwise sprinkle little water).
Add Salt. Radish contains Salt in nature and so, add Salt accordingly. Cook for 8 to 10 minutes.
Stir in between. Remove from the flame. Add Lemon Juice.
Done!
Serve with Dal Rice or Roti.
