Aloo Gobi Subzi influenced me to make this Potato Broccoli Curry. And it turned out to be a good combination for Rice, Roti etc. We can make it as a thin curry to serve with Indian Breakfast also.
Ingredients:
To Grind
Tomato – 2
Coriander Seed Powder – 1 tsp
Cumin Seed Powder – ½ tsp
Melon Seeds – 1 tbsp
Red Chilli Powder – ¾ tsp
Other Ingredients:
Potatoes – 2
Broccoli – 1 small flower cut inot florets
Oil – 2 tbsp
Onion (finely chopped) – 1
Bay Leaf – 1
Cinnamon Stick – 1 piece
Turmeric Powder – 1 pinch
Salt to taste
Method
Grind all the ingredients under the “to grind” column to a fine paste without adding any water. Keep aside
Boil the Potatoes. Peel and cut into medium sized cubes.
Heat the Oil in a pan. Add the Onions, Salt and Sauté till translucent.
Add cinnamon stick, bay leaves and the ground paste. Mix well.
Add Turmeric Powder. Adjust Salt, if required and sauté them for 3 to 4 minutes till the raw smell goes away.
Add the Broccoli. Mix them. Add 1 to 1 ½ cups of water.
Cover the pan and simmer for 6 to 8 minutes till the Broccoli is done. Mix well.
Add the potatoes and mix well.
Transfer to a serving bowl.
