This easy dish with bhindi/okra is for when you need to make something tasty and quick 🙂 You can serve the Bhindi masala with Rice, Roti, Phulka or Rice.
Ingredients:
Okra / Bhindi – 300 Gms
Oil – 2 tbsp
Jeera – ½ tsp
Crushed garlic – 1 tbsp
Crushed ginger – 1 tsp
Onion sliced – 2 Nos
Tomato finely chopped – 1 Nos (Big tomato)
Turmeric powder – 1 pinch
Chili powder – 1 tsp
Amchur / dry mango powder – ¼ tsp
Coriander powder / Dhania Powder – 1 tsp
Cilantro / Dhania finely chopped – 1 tbsp
Method:
Wash the Bhindi and wipe it dry with a kitchen napkin.
Cut them into medium thick pieces.
Heat oil and add jeera, when it crackles add crushed garlic and sauté for a minute in medium flame.
Add the Bhindi and sliced onion. Cook it in medium flame till the stickiness goes away and becomes dry. Stir it in between.
Add salt, turmeric powder and the tomatoes. Cook till the tomatoes are done.
Add the chilly powder, dhania powder and amchur. Cook it for 3-4 minutes and its ready to serve.
Done!
Note: Always remember to cut the Bhindi after it is washed and then dry it properly. Do not add the salt in the beginning. Add salt only when the stickiness goes away. Do not cover the pan in the beginning, it makes the Bhindi sticky.
