Mango Fruity is a very popular cold drink in the Indian subcontinent. We can make it at home without adding any preservatives and add on to enhance its taste. The method is simple and easy. It is now Mango season (summer is the Mango season) and one can get varieties of tasty Mangoes and so, make this tasty Fruity and enjoy. You can store in the refrigerator for about a week.
Ingredients:
Peeled and chopped Ripe Mangoes – 2 cups
Peeled and chopped Raw Mangoes–1 cup (Select Mango which are less sour)
Sugar – 1 cup
Water – ¾ cup for syrup
Ice Cubes – chilled water – 1 to 1 ½ litre
Method:
Pressure cook both the ripe and raw Mangoes for 2 to 3 whistles or till the raw Mango turn soft. Remove the lid as soon as the pressure is released.
Heat ¾ cup of water in a pan. Add Sugar. Bring it to a boil. When the Sugar dissolves completely, simmer for 3 to 4 minutes in low medium flame. Keep aside and allow it to cool.
Once the Mangoes (which we have pressure cooked) cool down, take them in a blender. Add half the quantity of the syrup which we made above. Blend them all together very smooth.
Add ½ cup of water and blend again. Add the remaining Sugar syrup and add a cup of chilled water. Blend well and transfer to a bowl. (if the Mangoes are of fibrous variety, strain and remove the fiber.
Taste the fruity juice. If you feel that it is less sweet, make some more Sugar syrup, cool it and then add to make it sweeter.
Add Ice Cubes and required amount of chilled water.
We like it to be a little thicker. But, you can adjust the consistency by adjusting the quantity of chilled water.
Transfer to serving glasses.
The tasty delicious Mango Fruity is ready.
Note:
I cooked the Mangoes in a pressure cooker. You can cook it in a pan with two glasses of water covered with a lid for 10 minutes.
You can adjust the consistency by adjusting the quantity of water and adjust the sweetness by adjusting the quantity of the Sugar syrup.
I added Ice Cubes to serve the Mango Fruity instantly after it is ready. You can refrigerate it for couple of hours and avoid adding Ice Cubes.
