This is Custard Apple Season now – starting from August to October. We can make so many sweet dishes, desserts, juices and drinks with the tasty and healthy Custard Apple (called as Sitaphal in India). And I would say that the Custard Apple milkshake is the first preference to make a tasty healthy milkshake. We can make it in real quick time. It takes not more than 10 minutes to make this milkshake and serve. Deseeding and extracting the Custard Apple Pulp does take a little time. But, I have already posted earlier the method for deseeding and extracting the pulp in my earlier post “How to deseed Custard App and store the pulp”. You can follow that recipe and store the pulp in advance. Custard Apple has lot many health benefits – high in antioxidants, helps in digestion, lower blood pressure, improves immunity etc. And it is a real mood elevator and so, serve Custard Apple milkshake to elevate the mood.
Ingredients:
Custard Apple Pulp – ¾ cup
Chilled Milk – 1 ½ cup
Sugar – 2 tbsp (Adjust to suit your taste)
Almonds – 10 to 12
Cashew Nuts – 10 to 12
Sliced Almonds – to garnish
Method:
Grind the Almonds for few seconds in a mixer or blender. Add Cashews and grind further to a fine powder.
Now, add the Custard Apple Pulp and Sugar. (You can add more Sugar if you want the milk shake to be sweeter). Blend them together to a fine puree. Add half the quantity of milk and blend well. Now, add the balance milk and blend again.
The creamy yummy healthy Sitaphal milkshake is ready. Transfer to serving glasses, garnish with sliced Almonds and serve immediately when the milkshake is cool.
Notes:
- You can add Honey or Maple Syrup and avoid Sugar.
- Adjust the quantity of Honey or Maple Syrup or Sugar as per your preference – to make the milkshake sweeter or less.
- Serve the milkshake immediately. Do not store it.
